Rescue Me ID: 15-01-14-00244Jinguru (male)

Shiba Inu    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

***TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.savemescout.wix.com/savemescoutrescue for the Adoption Application!*** Jinguru, which means 'jingle' in Japanese, is a 2 year old pure bred Sesame male Shiba Inu that was surrendered to us after he kept bolting the front door at his home. The household had lots of little kids going in and out and no one was paying attention to where Jingu was in the hustle and bustle. Tired of his bad habits, the family listed him on a garage sale site for free and a volunteer with the rescue saw it and contacted them. Jingu is so super sweet with people and it doesn't seem like he knows a single stranger on the planet. He ... (Read More)is good with dogs but has not yet been tested with cats. He was raised with 5 children and does great with kids. Due to past escape tendencies it may be best if he has 6 foot fencing. Jingu is potty trained and is working on crate training. He has some separation anxiety when crated but is still too young to just leave out when no one is home or sleeping as he may get into something. We feed him in his crate to associate positive things with it and he is starting to go in on his own for his foster mom. His forever family would need to keep up with these same practices. Due to his current vocalizations he may not be a good candidate for an apartment. Jingu's adoption fee is $325 which includes his neuter, microchip, deworming, distemper and rabies vaccinations and mandatory in home private training session. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-01-14-00211Shiba Inu Puppies

Shiba Inu    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Fixed, Needs Vaccinations

***TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO http://savemescout.wix.com/savemescoutrescue#!puppy-adoption-application/chq5 FOR THE PUPPY ADOPTION APPLICATION!*** ***WE WILL NOT SHIP THESE PUPPIES!!! ANY OUT OF STATE APPLICANTS MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL WITH THE WHOLE FAMILY AND ANY RESIDENT DOGS TO MEET THEM!*** The following litter of 4 puppies were born from Kayo, a 4 year old female that we acquired from an unlicensed breeder that was supposedly going out of business due to health related issues. He was threatening to sell all his remaining dogs at the next puppy mill auction and approached a contact of ours at another mill auction where we were ... (Read More)attempting to bid to get dogs out of the system. Kayo came to us extremely pregnant. Had she been sold to another puppy mill breeder, her puppies would have been born in small, filthy outdoor cages and Kayo would have continued to be a breeding adult for the rest of her life. Of the puppies there is, from left to right in the picture of all 4: ***Hinata (Red female, means 'sunflower' or 'facing the sun') Taiyo-san (ADOPTED) Hotaru (Sesame female, means 'firefly') Haruto (Sesame male, means 'sun' or 'light' and 'to soar') All of the puppies are working on crate training, potty training, sitting to be greeted, and appropriate chew toys as well as if they nip or bite that they don't get to play with us. They are being socialized with cats, other dogs and children. When crated separately they are fairly quiet so any would probably do well in an apartment. All of the puppies are playful and high energy. Not really any of them are cuddlers or lap dogs. ***Hinata, while you can't really tell from the pictures, has a deformed front left foot. It turns out to the side like a Bassett Hound. Our vet feels he can surgically repair it and hopefully there wouldn't be any ongoing medical care but there's no guarantee. Currently it does not affect her. She feels no pain and it doesn't slow her down but it would still be probably best to do surgery now rather than later. We are still accepting applications on her. We can always do a home visit with her and accept a deposit to hold her while we take care of her surgery. She will likely need several weeks of crate rest following surgery. All puppies have an adoption fee of $525. This includes their spay/neuter, microchip, deworming, 1st distemper/parvo booster, and mandatory in home private training session. ***TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO http://savemescout.wix.com/savemescoutrescue#!puppy-adoption-application/chq5 FOR THE PUPPY ADOPTION APPLICATION!*** ***WE WILL NOT SHIP THESE PUPPIES!!! Shiba Inu Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Lady is beautiful inside and out! She is so full of life and a highly energetic girl who needs training and loving direction. But she also can be a cuddle bug -- very sweet and affectionate. Lady has a fantastic spirit and personality, she just needs a loving family to call her own. When it comes to making four-legged friends she prefers males who admire her good looks and females who have no desire to compete. With this established she will happily join any group of dogs. Lady loves little children a bit too much !!! And would do best in a family with older children who can handle her expressive way of sharing her love. ... Rescue Me ID: 14-11-09-00020Maiko (female)

Shiba Inu    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

***TO ADOPT GO TO WWW.SAVEMESCOUT.WIX.COM/SAVEMESCOUTRESCUE FOR THE PUPPY ADOPTION APPLICATION!*** Maiko (my-kO), which means 'dancing child' in Japanese, is a 5 month old pure bred Red/Sesame female Shiba Inu. Maiko came from an unlicensed breeder that was shutting down and was planning on selling her as a breeding dog. Maiko likely would have then lived her life in a cage at a puppy mill with the sole purpose of producing puppies for pet stores and internet sales. Before coming to rescue Maiko had never walked on a leash before, never met children, or other dogs besides Shiba Inus. She didn't know what a dog bed was or what toys were ... (Read More)for. Maiko is working on crate training, potty training and walking on a leash. She is quiet in her crate so she may be great for apartment living. She is crated when no one is home and at bedtime. She is fed in her crate to associate it with positive things. She can climb baby gates so no chain link fencing for risk of escape, 6 foot privacy only if she's adopted into a home with a yard. She is learning to socialize with men, women, dogs and cats. She is doing fairly well but men frighten her more than women. Maiko is nervous around children as well so a quiet home with only one or two members would be best. Once she comes out of her shell she is very active and likes to go go go! Maiko is generally shy at first in general and not getting much socialization as a very young puppy, new things that we take for granted scare her. Running the vaccuum cleaner across the room in her foster home literally made her poop and pee herself, twice. She is a sensitive soul and needs someone that can work with her. Ideally she would have a home with another dog that is well socialized so that they can show her the ropes. She does best when around other dogs however she is food aggressive towards other dogs. This can certainly be worked on with her young age and without using forceful and aggressive methods. Maiko's adoption fee is $475.00 which includes her spay, microchip, deworming, distemper/parvo combo vaccines and a private in-home training session. (Less)
