Hello to everybody looking to rescue a dog. My name is Taz and I am an American Eskimo - Shiba inu mix that is in need of rescuing. I am energetic, especially for my age, and I like long walks, preferably two a day. I like to play fetch with a ball or tug of war with a rope. I love the attention, from just about anybody, and love to be pet behind my ears or on my belly. Most importantly, I am looking to continue to being somebody's best friend.

Meet Roxy! She is a Shiba mix our rescue pulled from a high kill shelter in Texas late last year. She's about 2 years old, shy but sweet and is doing great in her foster home. Here is what her foster mom has to say about her. A little more info about Roxy: She lives with dogs that range in size from yorkies to rottweiler (and lives with a lot of terriers with terrier personalities). Roxy gets along great with my 3 cats. She is awesome in her crate. I take her on bike rides and she absolutely loves it. She knows several commands: Sit, Down, Leave it, Off, Easy. She knows not to get on furniture. Roxy is 100% completely housebroken and trustworthy in the house. She walks pretty well on a leash and if you know how to work with her using positive reinforcement she is great at heeling. I have taught her not to bark when in the backyard (even when neighbor dogs are causing a ruckus through the fence). Her only qualm is that she is terrified of thunderstorms so you have to really make sure that she is not left outside since she won't be familiar with your home. As soon as it starts to even sprinkle she will start shaking so I put her in her crate and she curls up and goes to sleep. Roxy's adoption fee is $250 which includes her spay, vaccinations, deworming, microchip and training course. Shiba Inu Dogs can make good pets in Colorado if they match your IifestyIe. The Shiba Inu is a Japanese hunting dog similar to a small Akita. Shibas are proud, courageous, independent, and intelligent. Shibas are excellent with children. Shibas can be socialized with cats and opposite-sex canines. Shibas can live in an apartment but do best in a home that has a yard.
