|Rescue Me ID: 15-10-05-00466Daisy (female)|
Meet Daisy! Lab / Shiba Inu Mix DOB 9/4/2014 Daisy came to us from Kentucky where her family didn't appreciate her. She was an outside dog on a farm, scrounging for her food. When she decided that the farm chickens would be a good source of food, her owners told our rescue partner that she would be shot if there she didn't find rescue! When we heard this, we knew she needed a chance to have a family that truly loves her! Daisy is about a year old and is spunky and rambunctious like all dogs her age. She gets in enough mischief to keep you on your toes and is so sweet that she melts your heart! She gets along good with children and adults and has also done well with other dogs. We don't know about cats since there are none that we have seen her interact with. She would do best in a home with a fenced in yard so that she has the freedom to run and play. Daisy is grateful to be shown attention and is catching on quickly. She likes to take direction and with some time and training she will make a wonderful companion. As you can see from her pictures, her tail never stops wagging! Standard adoption fee is $295 (cash or check) and includes spay/neuter at our participating vets, immunizations/shots up to the point of adoption, fecal, deworming, frontline, 1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, micro-chipping and 30 days of shelter care insurance. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. Please consider becoming a foster home while you search for your new best friend. We need foster homes - pounds are overflowing with puppies and adult dogs that are at-risk and need help. We can only rescue as many as we have foster home commitments. Fostering is a rewarding experience for your family. (Less)

Shiba Inu Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. The Shiba Inu is a Japanese hunting dog similar to a small Akita. Shibas are proud, courageous, independent, and intelligent. Shibas are excellent with children. Shibas can be socialized with cats and opposite-sex canines. Shibas can live in an apartment but do best in a home that has a yard.
