This is my adorable foster dog, Ouan, who I am fostering in downtown Chicago through the International Street Dog Foundation. If you're unfortunate enough to follow me on Instagram, then you've already been plagued with the dozens of Instagram stories I post of her daily. (Sorry, but I just can't help myself!) I have been fostering Ouan for almost two weeks now, and although she's had inquiries, this little fur angel somehow hasn't been scooped up yet! About Ouan: * Ouan is about 2 years old, and arrived in the U.S. from Thailand on October 27th. From what the organization knows, she spent the majority of her life tied to a post outside and ... (Read More)was neglected by her owners. Despite this, Ouan doesn't display a hint of sadness! She is happy and wagging her tail all the time. * She is EXTREMELY loving and easy going, and adores being around people. She loves getting pets on her head and behind her ears, and if you stop too soon, she will put her nose under your hand to get you to continue! * Ouan is smaller than she looks--she is only about 25 pounds. * In addition to that, she doesn't bark. Ever. * She loves to go on walks and goes crazy the minute she sees you put your shoes on, but other than that, she is super chill in the house and just likes to cuddle up next to her human. * She is very curious and not skittish whatsoever. She doesn't seem to be bothered by loud noises. * Her size, along with all of these characteristics, make me think she would be a perfect dog for city living. * Ouan is VERY smart, and loves a challenge that comes with a food reward. She learned both 'sit' and 'up' in one day. * She doesn't chew anything! * When she really wants something, she stands on her hind legs and waves her front paws up and down. What Ouan's Future Family Should Know: * She is sometimes reactive towards other dogs on and off leash, and would need training in this area. After a slow introduction, she has been fine with other dogs, but it does take patience and will take some work. * While we've been working on potty training, Ouan still may have accidents in her first few days in a new home. Just a reminder, this girl has never stepped foot inside until 10 days ago, so she's doing great! She has begun to stand by the door to let me know when she has to go potty. * Ouan does shed, so definitely invest in a lint roller! If you can't deal with a little dog hair, she is not for you! Her adoption fee is $300. This money goes to support ISDF and facilitate adoptions for other dogs in need from around the world, just like Ouan. (Less)
