    Shiba Inu Rescue Information: The Shiba Inu is a Japanese hunting dog similar to a small Akita. Shibas are proud, courageous, independent, and intelligent. Shibas are excellent with children. Shibas can be socialized with cats and opposite-sex canines. Shibas can live in an apartment but do best in a home that has a yard.

    Shiba Inu Trivia: Shiba Inu is Japanese for Little Brushwood Dog. The Shiba Inu is considered a national monument of Japan. The Shiba Inu nearly became extinct during World War II due to bombing and distemper.
