    Shiba Inu Rescue Information: The Shiba Inu is a Japanese hunting dog similar to a small Akita. Shibas are proud, courageous, independent, and intelligent. Shibas are excellent with children. Shibas can be socialized with cats and opposite-sex canines. Shibas can live in an apartment but do best in a home that has a yard.

    Shiba Inu Trivia: Shiba Inu is Japanese for Little Brushwood Dog. The Shiba Inu dates back to the third century B.C. in Japan. The Shiba Inu nearly became extinct during World War II due to bombing and distemper. The Shiba Inu is one of the most ancient dog breeds.
